Our Epic Roadtrip Finale: Fireworks, Fun, and Fairytales in Copenhagen!
Well, folks, we’ve made it to our final stop on this epic European road trip—and what better way to end our adventure than with a bang in Copenhagen? From the majestic fjords of Norway to the magic of Disneyland, we’ve had an absolutely unforgettable journey. But let me tell you, Copenhagen definitely saved the best for last!
A Magical Start at Nimb Hotel
After a few hours on the road, we finally arrive—tired but absolutely buzzing with excitement. And waiting for us? A hotel so enchanting, it feels like we’ve stepped into a fairy tale. Welcome to the Nimb Hotel, right next to Tivoli Gardens. With its turreted towers and stunning architecture, it looked like something straight out of a princess story—only this time, it was real life.
Just when we thought the day was winding down, the universe decided to add a little extra magic to the mix. We’d barely dropped our bags and flopped onto the bed when—BOOM—the night sky outside our window exploded with fireworks! It was as if Tivoli Gardens was throwing us a personal welcome party. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. My daughter was practically jumping out of her skin, shouting, “Look, Mom, look!” with every burst of color lighting up the sky. We grabbed some of the free minibar treats (because, really, who can resist?), curled up by the window, and watched in awe as the fireworks danced above us. It felt like a little piece of magic just for us.

Oh, and speaking of the minibar—let’s just say it was stocked with an amazing selection of free snacks, drinks, and even chocolates. We may have indulged just a bit (okay, a lot) before calling it a night. Let’s be honest, the Nimb Hotel knows how to treat their guests right!
And if that wasn’t enough, we were also given complimentary facemasks to unwind and relax. After snacking our way through the minibar, we decided to take full advantage of the hotel’s cozy vibe. A hot bath was just what we needed to end the day—complete with bubbles, relaxation, and the pure joy of doing absolutely nothing for a while. It was the perfect way to recharge before another exciting day ahead.
A Day at Tivoli: Rides, Laughter, and Pure Joy
The next day, we were ready to take on Tivoli Gardens—the perfect place to unleash all that road trip energy. Now, if you’ve never been to Tivoli, imagine an amusement park that’s like a magical mix of old-world charm and thrill-seeker’s paradise. It’s been around since 1843 (yep, that’s not a typo), and it’s packed with quirky rides, beautiful gardens, and enough candy shops to put Willy Wonka to shame.
We spent the whole day at Tivoli, soaking up every bit of fun the park had to offer. We raced through roller coasters, including the oldest one in the park (which was definitely my favorite!). There’s something about that vintage ride that gave us all the thrills and a little bit of nostalgia. My daughter’s face lit up with pure joy every time we climbed aboard a new ride. The excitement in her eyes? Absolutely priceless. She’s got a serious need for speed!
I have to say, the best part was just taking a moment to breathe and wander through the gardens. Tivoli is stunning—flower-filled paths, twinkling lights, and peaceful spots to pause and reflect. But who are we kidding? We were mostly running from one ride to the next with giggles in the air and sugar in our veins.
The Bittersweet Goodbye… And The Long Drive Home
After a day packed with thrills, we were finally at the end of our road trip. I can’t even begin to describe the mix of emotions as we packed up the car and started the long drive back to Norway. It’s weird how something so exciting can make you feel both happy and sad at the same time.
I mean, this trip has been everything. We’ve experienced so many new places, laughed until our bellies hurt, and (let’s be real) consumed way too much junk food along the way. From the cozy streets of Gothenburg to the epic Eiffel Tower light show in Paris, and of course, the whimsical rides of Disneyland, we’ve packed in more memories than I can count.
This road trip wasn’t just about the destinations; it was about us. Just me and my daughter, side by side, discovering the world together. The whole experience has made us closer, and every moment of it is etched in my heart forever.

As we pulled into our driveway back home in Norway, I couldn’t help but think: This road trip? It’s a chapter of our lives we’ll look back on forever. There were so many highlights—so many “pinch me” moments—but the best part? Sharing it all with my daughter.
